Highway sinks

IMPHAL, Oct 23: A large section of Imphal-Dimapur highway, measuring about 120 feet sank at Khongnem area between Lairouching and Karong this evening. The sunken area is located about 15 kms from Senapati district headquarters. It may take some days to repair the sunken portion, said sources.
One truck and two excavators (JCB) were also swept away when the highway sank although there was no report of any human casualty.
