Expenditure cut

IMPHAL, Oct 26 : With the COVID-19 pandemic seriously impacting on the economy of the place and with funds from the Centre and receipts from the State's own resources likely to see a sizeable decrease from the previous year, the State Government has decided to cut down expenditures to ensure that scarce resources are available for meeting critical expenditures.
In line with this, the State Government has put a ceiling on all expenditure, with 40 percent on foreign travel expenses, 60 percent on office expenses, 40 percent on publications.
A ceiling of 50 percent has also been put on supplies and materials, 40 pc on clothing and tentage, 50 pc on advertisement and publicity, 40 pc on minor works, 50 pc on grants for creation of capital assets, 50 pc on grants-in aid (non-salary), 40 pc on other charges, 50 pc on motor vehicle, 40 pc on machinery and equipment and 50 pc on major works.
A notification to this effect was issued on October 22.
The State Government has also decided that a special festival package of advance (Rs 10,000) will be extended to all State Government employees for important festivals upto March 31, 2021.
The mount of Rs 10,000 will be interest free.
Earlier Government employees were given bonus and payments ahead of any important festival.
