Awareness prog on 'Organic Farming' conducted

A one day awareness programme on 'Organic Farming' under Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) was conducted at Bollok Village, Chakpikarong Sub-division, Chandel district.
The programme was conducted by KVK- Chandel and is launched and initiated to promote organic farming through cluster approach which aims at supporting and promoting organic farming to improve soil health.
The main objective is to produce agricultural products free from chemicals by adopting eco-friendly, low –cost technologies.
The programme was led by Nodal Officer Dr Khumlo Levis, Agronomist, KVK- Chandel.
Field visit and farmer-scientist interaction was also conducted with the beneficiaries of the village.
PKVY is an extended component of Soil Health Management under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme, National Mission on Sustainable Organic Farming.
