IMPHAL, Oct 4 : The Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) said on Sunday that it fully supports the Framework Agreement that was signed between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM on August 3, 2015 and urged the Government of India to keep its “commitment given in the Framework Agreement”.
The ZU also urged the Government of India to demonstrate political will.
Meanwhile, the Zeliangrong Union appreciated the Government of India and the NSCN-IM for resuming the talk after a brief “stand-off”.
The ZU expressed its regret on the various press statements from “few Naga civil society organizations” which are detrimental to the peace process and unity of the Naga people. It said such “divisive” statements should be avoided  at this crucial and critical stage. It added that “irresponsible statements will hamper and even derail the hard earned ongoing Naga peace process”.
The Zeliangrong Union then appealed to Naga civil society organizations to “dwell on the core issue and acknowledge and also honour all the stakeholders of the Naga political groups which are engaged in the peace talks”. It also appealed to all the Naga organizations to support in bringing a solution.
The ZU appealed to “all the stakeholders of Naga political groups to work together for an early Naga solution".
