Widow pension, sewing machines and looms distributed

BISHNUPUR, Nov 10: To empower and make women of Bishnupur Constituency self-reliant, a distribution programme was organised at the residence of MLA Govindas Konthoujam at Ningthoukhong Bazar.
Konthoujam Gojendro Foundation Youth Economic Empowerment Scheme (KGFYEES) and Konthoujam Gojendro Widow Pension Scheme of the Konthoujam Gojendro Foundation  sponsored the distribution of the widow pension, sewing machine and looms.
It was attended by Bishnupur AC MLA Govindas Konthoujam, president Bishnupur Block Congress Committee Ch Ibotombi Singh, president Bishnupur Assembly Youth Congress Committee L Premjit, president Bishnupur  Block Mahila Congress Committee M Shyama Devi and patron K Lukhoi as presidium members.
The Konthoujam Gojendro Foundation established in September 2016 has so far distributed 171 schemes under its Widow Pension scheme.
The KGFYEES in its 2nd  phase distributed sewing machines to 20 beneficiaries and looms to 23 beneficiaries.  28 sewing machines and 20 looms were also distributed in the 1st phase.
Rs 300 per person for the 171 widow pension scheme and Rs 100 for 1000 old age pension has been distributed monthly by the Foundation.
