Dead body re-identified

CCpur, Nov 11: Churachandpur police have re-established the identity of the dead body recovered at Eden Hotel on Tuesday as 47-year-old Veeru Das and not Gopal Singh as reported earlier.
As no one is claiming the body, the police who rely on multiple sources from the Bengali community fail to know his native place.
The owner of the hotel reportedly told the police that Veeru Das knocked their gate late in the night to lodge there. He was found dead the next day at about 11 am.
The local police are finding it difficult to establish even his identity as no one came forward to identify him and an ID card, document or phone was found from his possession.
It is reported that no autopsy will be conducted on the body.
The police have now sought the permission of the District Magistrate to dispose of the body after the expiry of  24 hours.
