Homage to late scribe

IMPHAL, Dec 23: The 8th death anniversary of journalist Thangjam Dwijamani alias Nanao was held today at the memorial site constructed in his name at Thangmeiband Cheiraoching.
Thangjam Dwijamani died in police firing while covering a public movement at Cheiraoching on December 23, 2012 against physical harassment of a film actor by an NSCN (IM) cadre in Chandel. He was a cameraman with the Prime News Channel.
Many journalists including AMWJU (All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union) president Bijoy Kakchingtabam and family members attended the memorial observance and paid respect to Dwijamani.
At the observance, AMWJU president Bijoy Kakchingtabam spoke about the hardships State journalists face when performing their duties.
