National seminar conducted

A National Seminar on the theme 'Revisiting Culture of Meitei Pangal' was held today at the multipurpose hall of Lilong Haoreibi College organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college under the aegis of Manipur State Minorities Commission.
Chairperson of Manipur State Minorities Commission Anwar Hussain, Assistant Professor of SR College, Assam University Dr Abul Khair Chowdhury and Principal of Lilong Haoreibi College Dr Raheijuddin Sheikh graced the event as the chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
Assistant Professors of DM College of Arts Dr Syed Ahmed, Dr Bino Devi, Dr Salima Khanam, Zenith Chanu and Sapana of Lilong Haoreibi College presented papers in the two technical sessions which was moderated Dr K Kunjani Devi, former Principal of the college and eminent Pangal cultural activist SM Sheikh.
Speaking at the event, Anwar Hussain stressed on the importance of conducting research and development activities and said that such an academic forum organized at the National level would benefit the Commission in making recommendations to the Government in policy making for the welfare of the minority communities in the State.
