AMCTA suspends cease work stir

IMPHAL, Feb 11: The All Manipur College  Teachers' Association (AMCTA) has decided to suspend its proposed ceasework strike from tomorrow.
Speaking to media persons, AMCTA president M Lokendro said that the association had initially planned to launch a ceasework strike from tomorrow if the State Government fails to fulfil its demands by today.
However, AMCTA learned that the State Cabinet has approved the implementation of 7th UGC Pay for the college teachers and as such, AMCTA has decided to suspend its scheduled protest, he informed.
He then explained that for now AMCTA has no knowledge about the minute details of the Cabinet decision. However, if any points are found to be unsatisfactory, AMCTA will resume its protest, he cautioned.
