IMPHAL, Feb 14: Welcoming the decision of the High Court of Manipur to quash the results of the MPSC 2016 examination and remove the officers selected through the said exam, the Democratic Students Alliance Manipur (DESAM), Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Singpanglup (AIMS) and the All Naga Students' Association Manipur (ANSAM) have opined that the guilty candidates/officers should be penalised.
A joint memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister by the three student associations demanding identification of the culprits involved and protection of the future of the innocent candidates/officers, conveyed that no innocent individual must be made to suffer for the fault of others and as a model employer, the State Government needs to take necessary steps to protect its sincere/innocent employees by filing appeal or special leave petition before the Supreme Court.
Stating that all the culprits involved in the scandal must be given exemplary penalty, the student associations cautioned that innocent candidates must not be made to bear the price for the faults of the MPSC.
Further demanding the CBI investigation be carried out in a time bound manner, the associations urged the findings of the investigation to be made public.
Otherwise, such a massive scam might get buried in history without any definite conclusion, they reasoned.
The associations also demanded those found innocent to be rehabilitated by whatever means necessary.
