Zoramthanga visits alma mater

IMPHAL, Feb 13: Mizo National Front leader and Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga today visited his alma mater, DM College after a gap of 54 years.
Zoramthanga came to the State to attend Zo Kutpui festival at Kanpui village, Churachandpur on February 11. He visited DM College today which was once a reputed college not only in Manipur but the entire North East region. 
According to DM College of Arts Principal Ch Sheela, Zoramthanga has not forgotten the rooms where he attended classes 54 years back.
After completing PUC in 1962, Zoramthanga completed BA English (Honours) in 1966, Sheela said.
The Mizoram Chief Minister also narrated about his college days and even named many of his classmates including deceased ones.
He wrote in the college visitors’ back that he was quite happy to visit his alma mater after all these years and expressed best wishes for DM College.
According to Sheela, Zoramthanga is the first VIP  among all the products of   DM College of Arts to visit the college.
Zoramthanga also presented a copy of his BA (Honours) certificate to Principal Ch Sheela.
