MU men's regu team finish runners up at All India Inter University Sepak Takraw

IMPHAL, Feb 21 : Manipur University (MU) men's regu team had to contend with a silver medal as they finished runners up at the All India Inter University (Men and Women) Sepak Takraw tournament hosted by MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly since February 19.
MU started the tournament (knock out round) with a 21-8, 21-9 thrashing of Krishna University, Machilipatnam and went on to overwhelm AN University, Andhra Pradesh 21-9, 21-9 to make it to the quarter finals.
In the quarter final clash, MU team earned a 22-20, 21-14 win against Punjabi University, Patiala to qualify for the super 4 league round where in the team managed two wins to finish second.
MU lost the first match of the super league to Panjab University, Chandigarh 21-19,18-21, 18-21 but bounced back with a 21-15, 20-22, 21-13 win against MJP, Rohilkhand University to keep their medal hunt alive. MU then managed a 21-16, 21-18 against Anna University to settle for the silver medal.
