One held in Class XI question paper leak scam

IMPHAL, Feb 23: Cyber Crime Police Station, CID Crime Branch Manipur, yesterday evening, arrested a management staff of Dineshwori Higher Secondary School, Canchipur, in connection with the leakage of question papers of Class XI examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM).
The individual identified as Moirangthem Sunderchand (33) s/o M Chaoba of Kyamgei Mamang Leikai was arrested by a team of Cyber Crime PS led by N John, Additional SP (Cyber Crime PS).
According to a reliable source, after a written complaint was filed by the Secretary of COHSEM regarding the wide-circulation of the leaked questions papers for five subjects of the Class XI examination on social media sites, a regular FIR was registered at Cyber Crime PS, CID Crime Branch Manipur.
Immediately, under the supervision of Joyce Lalremmavi, SP of CID Crime Branch, efforts were made to track down the culprit (s) responsible for the leak and eventually, Moirangthem Sunderchand, a management staff of Dineshwori Higher Secondary School, Canchipur, was arrested. The source further mentioned that there is strong indication the English question paper might have also been leaked as well.
Informing that the police is working actively to identify and arrest all those involved in the leak, the source pointed out that Sunderchand was produced before the Duty Magistrate of Imphal West today evening and taken into police custody remand for 7 days (till February 29).
