SEYO Tennis Tournament: Bushan, Dompson win big to enter men's singles quarter finals

IMPHAL, Feb 6 : Bushan and 6 others were able to enter the quarter finals of the 2nd State Level Tennis Tournament which kicked off today at SEYO (South Eastern Youth Organisation) tennis court, Akampat.
Bushan Haobam who claimed men's open singles title at the recently concluded Heisnam Basantakumar Memorial IDTA Invitation Open Tennis Tournament, kicked off his title campaign with a convincing 9-0 win against Amarjit today.
Dompson was also seen posting a comfortable 9-1 victory against Binoy to enter last 8 stage of the competition where he will meet Azad Khan who dumped out Bona 9-8 (7-2) in a hard fought match.
The day also saw Luching oust Rabi S 9-6 to set up quarter final date with Bushan. Becker also made it to the last 8 with a 9-7 win against Atap L and will face Akendrajit who downed Munsing 9-6 in another first round (last 16) clash of the day. Rivaskar too booked the last 8 berth by beating Pritam Ch 9-3 today.
Pritam and Jagat in above 35 men's doubles quarters
Pritam and Jagat pair were able to seal a place in the quarter final today with a 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 10-7 win against Ramkumar and Romeo.
Other pair who reached the quarter finals are Dompson and Herojit who outlasted Kene and Kumarjit 6-1, 6-2.
Prakash and Manikanta were also seen advancing to last 16 stage with an easy 6-0, 6-2 win against Amarjit and Pradeep.
