NSCN (IM) cancels all events

DIMAPUR, Mar 17: The NSCN-IM has cancelled all its important events including this year's celebration of Naga Republic Day as preventive measures for COVID-19.
This was informed through a press release by the NSCN-IM.
The Naga Republic Day is a mega event celebrated every year on March 21 in all the NSCN-IM camps. The NSCN-IM organizes the main celebration at Camp Hebron every year where a large number of Nagas come and join the celebration.
“To stand in solidarity with the declaration of COVID-19 as pandemic by World Health Organization (WHO), the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN)” has taken decisions to take up preventive measures, the NSCN-IM said in the press release.
One of the “preventive measures” is that, the NSCN-IM has also postponed its budget session indefinitely.
The NSCN-IM has also postponed the celebration of Naga Freedom Fighters Widow’s Welfare Federation Silver Jubilee.
Interviews and press conferences or media interactions will not be held for the time being as part of the “preventive measures” on COVID-19. There will be no meetings until further notice, said the NSCN-IM.
