Awareness programme held

IMPHAL, Mar 20: An awareness programme against spread of coronavirus was organised by the Sadar Bazar Jame Masjid, Paona Bazar in association with Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Manipur at the premises of the Masjid today, said a press release issued by Sadar Bazar Jame Masjid Managing Committee.
Experts of IRCS State branch educated the gathering on coronavirus pandemic and stressed on the importance of social distancing, hand-washing and self-quarantine to protect from the infection and from further spread.
Social etiquette like covering of mouth and nose while coughing and sneezing etc was demonstrated and hand-outs showing the advisory were also distributed, it said.
Pesh Imam Ziauddin Saheb spoke of the danger posed by the virus and appealed to all to heed advisories of health experts. He also prayed for protection of all, it added.
The programme was attended by devotees from different parts of the valley districts.
