Stamping begins

IMPHAL, Mar 22: Stepping up its measures against possible spread of COVID-19 in the State, the State Government has started stamping people with indelible ink who come from outside the State.
It is said that all the stamped people should remain under home quarantine for a particular period.
According to a high ranking official of the Health Department, stamping of people who come to the State through the surface entry points of Mao, Jiribam and Moreh began today. The same initiative has been launched at Imphal airport too.
Informing that the number of people under home quarantine has reached 464 in the State, the official said that one truck driver who came from Delhi has been put in the isolation ward of JNIMS. The driver came to Imphal through Jiribam. As he reached Khongsang, Tamenglong this morning, he grew weak and became feverish. Subsequently, Health Department sent an ambulance and brought the driver to JNIMS. The driver is being examined by doctors, said the official.
