MLA donates

IMPHAL, Mar 22: Member of Legislative Assembly RK Imo Singh has donated half of his monthly salary Rs 50,000 to the State Government to aid in the fight against COVID-19.
“The battle (against novel coronavirus) has just begun for our country and the State in particular and the next few weeks are the most important phase to control this pandemic. There will be more stringent measures and we the people of Manipur have to unite and fight as one. We all know our healthcare isn’t the best in the country, we are a resourceless State and this pandemic will hit the State economically and we all should contribute to the State to overcome this phase,” RK Imo said in a statement today.
He also urged all MLAs, Government servants and all to donate whatever they can to help fight the disease. It is also ‘our duty’ to break this chain (virus transmission) by staying put inside our respective homes, he said encouraging people to maintain social distancing.
It may be noted that COVID-19 has infected more than 316,209 and killed more than 13,598 worldwide.
