IMPHAL, Mar 22: The All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union has banned all press meet, conference, public gathering at the Manipur Press Club.
The decision to ban public gathering was taken during a meeting of the union with the Editors’ Guild Manipur (EGM) held at the press club today to discuss COVID-19 outbreak, said AMWJU in a statement.
All reporters/correspondents have been advised against participating in press meet called by any individual/organisation. Individual and organisation wishing to hold or release press statement should send press release/statement/video clips through electronic means via mail/WhatsApp to the media firms or at 8974283214 (WhatsApp) and email-
[email protected], said the union.
All reporters have also been advised against participating in any media tour/pick up programme for the time being. Government press communications should be sent through Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) or at the union’s WhatsApp number/email, it added.
Further, it also asked Government health authority to provide a list of panel members authorised to speak/participate/give comment in a panel discussion/query in connection with COVID-19 and related issues.
