Follow guidelines issued by Health Dept, Government: Agri Minister to CCpur locals
IMPHAL, Mar 23: Agri Minister V Hangkhanlian has appealed the people of Churachandpur district to strictly adhere to the advice and guidelines issued by the Health authorities and ensure prompt and strict compliance to the preventive measures being taken up by the State Government to contain the spread of deadly coronavirus in the State.
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which is currently faced by people all over the world is a big medical threat to the entire population and about 415 persons in India have been infected with coronavirus as on today, said a statement issued by the Minister.
Not a single case has been detected in Manipur so far. However, this should not make the people of Manipur or the people of Churachandpur complacent in any manner, he said and maintained that the danger of COVID-19 is mainly its exponential spread due to its easily contagious nature.
Saying that one infection can lead to hundreds and thousands of infections within no time unless adequate preventive measures are taken, he asserted that this is exactly why the Chinese Government ordered complete lockdown in Wuhan province and other provinces affected by the virus in China.
The State Government has announced various preventive measures including lockdown, which needs to be strictly followed by the general public to prevent ourselves from getting infected as there is no vaccine or medicine for the disease yet, he said and continued that the Janata Curfew announced by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on March 22 and the lockdown announced by the State Cabinet today are essential measures to prevent the deadly virus from spreading in the State.
