UPF, UCM condole

IMPHAL, Apr 12 : United Peoples' Front (UPF), Manipur has condoled the sudden demise of its secretary publicity, Tuikhang Eamshong @ Ashong Koireng on April 11 at his residence at Utonglok Koireng.
Ashong Koireng was born on 1964 at Utonglok Koireng in Senapati District (now Kangpokpi District) and had played an important role for the development of Koireng community apart from working to preserve and uphold the integrity of the State, said a statement issued by UPF.
Ashong Koireng had also held the post of assistant external secretary of United Committee Manipur (UCM).
Ashong Koireng was a very versatile and multi-talented artiste and was the first person from Koireng community to become an approved artiste of All India Radio and DDK Imphal. He had sung many songs and worked on many video albums apart from doing charitable works during his lifetime, the statement added.
The demise of such a significant figure has left an irreplaceable void for the Koireng community and Manipur at large, said UPF while sharing its profound grief and sorrow of the bereaved family and friends. UPF also prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
Meanwhile, UCM has also paid its deepest condolence on his sudden demise. The void left by his demise will be hard to fill, said UCM in its condolence message while fondly remembering his remarkable role in preserving the emotional and territorial integrity of the State. The committee also extended solidarity to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
