6 non-locals held

Thoubal, Apr 12: Locals have handed over 6 non-Manipuris without proper identification documents to Thoubal police today.
The six individuals, who do not know Manipuri language, were detained by the locals of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai Wangmataba Amureijam when they came in a Tata DI with over 40 bags of Yongchak (Parkia speciosa). They claimed to be from Dimapur, but it is not clear when they came to Manipur, and they were supposed to deliver the loads to two local women, said sources.
SDO Lilong and Thoubal PS personnel visited the spot.
Meanwhile, the locality has questioned how they were able to transport the materials freely during the lockdown.
