Darjeeling MP helps

KANGPOKPI, Apr 25 : Manipur born Darjeeling MP Raju Bista reached out to stranded Manipuri youth in Siliguri and helped them with essential items amid the COVID-19 lockdown.
The MP had received a call from the president of All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union informing that about 13 Kuki youths from Manipur were stranded at Siliguri owing to the Nationwide lockdown and they were running out of essential provisions including rice, etc. said a press release from the Darjeeling MP office.
It also said that the MP office immediately reached out to the youth and provided them with food, vegetables, cooking oil and other essential provisions to help them through these difficult times.
It also conveyed gratitude to the Kuki Students' Organization, Manipur for bringing their concern to the notice of the MP through AMGSU, who personally intervened upon hearing that the youth were from his home State and also assured them of all possible assistance in future as well.
