Brown sugar seized

MOREH, Jun 22 : A combined team of Moreh police and commandos seized substances suspected to be brown sugar today at around 12 pm at the police check post near Kondong Lairembi.
The item weighing about 238 gram and carefully packed in 20 soap cases was seized along with the carrier after the police team intervened and searched a Maruti Swift car.
The seized items and  the carrier, identified as Md Musaraf (25), son of Khulakpam Rasimudin of Changamdabi Makha Leikai, Yairipok have been handed over to Moreh police station for further legal action.
SP Tengnoupal, in connection with the seizure, stated that the items were seized by a team led by ASP (L&O), Sangboi Gangte as a part of their continuous effort to curb the trafficking of illegal items along the Imphal Moreh road.
The SP also encouraged the team with cash reward on the occasion, reports our correspondent.
