IMPHAL, Jun 29: Deputy Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, Kongkham Robindro has stated that one of the most attractive Idigah complexes of the State will be constructed at Bengoon.
Notably, K Robindro is also the incumbent MLA of Mayang Imphal Assembly Constituency.
Speaking to media persons, K Robindro continued that there is not a single Idigah in Mayang Imphal AC for the moment.
Saying that land has already been bought to start constructing the complex at Bengoon Mayai Leikai, the Dy Speaker said that the land will be handed over to public once a committee is formed to monitor the project.
The committee will include at least one representative from every polling under the Constituency which is inhabited by Muslim brethren, K Robindro added.
Siraj Ahmed, a local of Bengoon Mayai Leikai, said that past leaders from the Constituency only gave empty promises about developing a proper worshipping place for those who believe in Islam faith.
He then lauded the Deputy Speaking for understanding the grievances of Muslims and taking up the initiative to construct an Idigah in the AC.
Chairperson of Manipur State Haj Committee, Abdul Salam also lauded K Robindro for initiating many development projects such as water supply schemes in the AC.
