IMPHAL, Jul 14 : Naga People's Front (NPF) Manipur unit's president, Awangbow Newmai has said that NPF, established in the year 1963, is one of the oldest regional political parties in the North East known for its integrity, firm principles and beliefs.
He said this during a press conference held this evening at the party's office at Langol Tarung.
Speaking to media persons, he said that the party functions in line with the party principles and thus decisions are taken only after incorporating views and consideration of party members. Deriding the news regarding the struggle for Ministerial posts within the party, he termed that such news are unfounded and baseless.
The State unit president also went on to highlight the party structure in detail and remarked that the party neither has any unit called 48-Mao NPF Forum nor recognises it.
The party has its Central Office and leaders in Nagaland and Manipur State Unit come under it, he said while further dissecting the State Unit into district, divisional and Assembly Constituency levels. He further said that there are district council units under an Assembly Constituency unit, and clarified that no other forum exists in the party structure. The party is closely monitoring and investigating how the 48-Mao NPF Forum was formed and who is executing the forum, Awangbow Newmai continued.
