IMPHAL, Jul 18
The Hill District Private Schools Association, Manipur (HiDiPSAM) has warned of a series of democratic protests if the State Government fails to revoke its orders issued on  May 26 and June 20 by July 20.
Despite appeals, memorandums and numerous press release issued by both HiDiPSAM and UARSoM (United Association of Recognised Schools of Manipur), there is no initiative or attempt from the the Education Minister and the department concerned to address the imbroglio created by the said orders, said HiDiPSAM in a statement.
If the Government fails to revoke the orders in connection with fee and pay structures for private school students and teachers by July 20, all hill district private schools will stop all modes of teaching (online and offline) and staff will be laid off, said the statement besides warning to close private schools in hill districts.
It also warned that all schools will surrender their recognition to BSEM, CoHSEM, CBSE and ICSE.
HiDiPSAM also sought intervention of the Governor and the Chief Minister and demanded resignation of the Education Minister on moral ground if the Minister fails to bring a solution to the matter. UARSoM also extended support to the ultimatum served by HiDiPSAM. UARSoM, in a statement, said that the recent orders would ruin private schools during such a crucial juncture brought by the outbreak of COVID-19.
If an amicable solution is not worked out, UARSoM will approach the Court, it continued.
