WIN cigarettes seized

IMPHAL, Jul 22: The Imphal West district commando seized huge quantity of banned tobacco items  including 5100 boxes of WIN cigarettes, 120 boxes of Gudang Garam International and 250 boxes of Esse light cigarettes from a Tata truck near Canchipur Manipur University main gate today morning.
Driver of the Tata truck identified as Bilal Hussain (33) of 144 Bazar road near Nilbagan LP School road Nagaon, Assam and co-driver Bala Raja (20) of Pub Bandarmela of Nagaon, Assam have been arrested. They revealed that they loaded the foreign made cigarettes from the house of one Md Faruque (25) of Irong Chesaba, Mayang Imphal to be transported to one Mukesh of Bihar presently staying at Dimapur.
The two arrested persons along with the seized items have been handed over to Customs Division Imphal.
