Silchar, Jul 25 : Manipuri Youth Front of Assam (MYFA)'s  awareness campaign for "Inclusion of Manipuri Language as an official language of Assam" continued today as well at various Meitei localities in Cachar district's Lakhipur Constituency.
One of the awareness campaign held at around 11 am at Chandam Leikai was presided by one Oja Modhin Singha and attended by many scholars, youths and women folks.
Speaking at the programme, MYFA's president Seram Herajit, maintained that it was better to die for the cause of preserving Manipuri Language than to die off COVID-19.
"If we fail to preserve the Manipuri language, the existence of Manipuris in the State of Assam will soon become a history," he said while questioning whether it will be meaningful for Manipuris to flourish without Manipuri language.
Kh Krishnamohan Singha, a National Youth Award recipient, also called for a collective effort to save and preserve the Manipuri language during the event.
Meanwhile, MYFA's general secretary, Okram Lakhikanta maintained that it was unfortunate for them to keep believing in false promises made by the Chief Minister of Manipur. There is still time to reach out to his counterpart in Assam and discuss on the issue if he truly cares and has feelings for the Manipuris residing in Assam, Lakhikanta continued. The same campaign was also held today at Chingdong Leikai Khunjao, Wapokpi and Bibigram.
