Tobacco products seized

IMPHAL, Jul 26
Acting on a reliable information, teams of CDO Imphal West have interrupted a Tata truck and seized huge amounts of tobacco products at Khongnang Ani Karak at 2 pm today.
On verification the occupants identified themselves as Ajay Thousen (25), s/o Projen Thosen and Ajay Chouhan (19), s/o Ravindra Chouhan.
Both the occupants of the truck carrying tobacco products from Dimapur in total violation of the lockdown order were from Bogdadisa, Diphu Karbi, Assam.
On further checking of the Tata truck, 80 bags containing 8400 boxes of Shikhar Pan Masala,  8400 boxes of SS and 15 bags of Afghan Rally Spit Tobacco containing 540 boxes were found inside the truck.
Both of them disclosed that the above recovered articles were transported from Dimapur and were to be delivered to one Krisna of Telipati, Imphal East.
The occupants along with the Tata truck and recovered tobacco products were handed over to the Food Safety Department for necessary legal action.
