One held, explosives recovered

IMPHAL, Aug 18: A combined team of Imphal West Commando and 15 Assam Rifles arrested one alleged active member of PREPAK (Pro) with explosive materials from Seijang village under Yaingangpokpi Station, Imphal East yesterday evening. The arrested cadre identified as Ingudam Ingocha alias Borobi (43), s/o (L) I Megho, was arrested from his residence at Seijang Makha Leikai, Imphal East. He was arrested during a search operation carried out in the village, said police.
One Chinese hand grenade, four detonators, two  9 Volt batteries, two explosive PEK cakes weighing around 260 grams, three TNT (TriNitroToluene) explosive powder weighing around 700 grams and a bunch of wire and other materials were seized from his residence.
Ingocha revealed he started working for PREPAK (Pro) in February 2020 under the command of one Lalngamba of PREPAK (Pro) Finance Department. He went to Moreh as called by his commander and was given some explosive materials meant to be planted at Lamlai Yaingangpokpi road to target security personnel, said police. The arrested person along with seized explosive materials have been handed over to the Yaingangpokpi PS for investigation.
