IMPHAL, Sep 16 : Owner of The Sangai Express (TSE), Nishikant Singh Sapam gifted yet another house to an elderly destitute woman today.
The key of the newly built house was formally handed over to Gurumayum ningol Khomdonbi Devi (72), who is a resident of Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai, during a simple function held this morning at Anoubam Mandap of Thouda Bhabok Leikai.
The concrete house with an attached bathroom, was constructed in association with Chaokhat Thourang Kanglup, Thouda Bhabok Leikai and with the approval of the local elders considering the precarious condition of the house under which the elderly widow was living.
"I am extremely happy over the noble gesture of the TSE owner on receiving the newly built house," said an elated and emotional Khomdonbi Devi who added that it was like a dream as none could have done so much for her like him (Nishikant).
The elderly woman also poured blessings on Nishikant Singh and wished luck in his future endeavours.
It may be recalled that the TSE owner had built and presented a three room house to a family of four of the same locality three months back as a part of his continuous charitable activities in the State.
Speaking at the occasion, secretary of the Apunba Nupi Marup, Thouda Bhabok Leikai, Soraisham Ashalata also heaped praises on Nishikant Singh for his commendable works, assistance to the poor and presenting newly built houses to individuals, families who are helpless and economically backward.
Nishikant, meanwhile, said that whatever he was doing, was all because of the love and faith shown to him by local organisations and residents.
While assuring more help to those in need, the TSE owner also thanked and prayed the Almighty for enabling him to carry out such charitable works.
