A declaration cum blessing programme of Huri Golmei, intending candidate to 53/ST, Tamenglong AC election was held on September 19 at Rangkhung Village.
The declaration to support Huri Golme was made by all the denizens of Rangkhung in the presence of the village pei (Thoubei) .
Huri Golmei, S/o late Poujaichung Gonmei and late K Shangbuanliu, was born on 15th March 1958 at Taobam (Irang) Village and subsequently shifted to Changdai (Akhui) Village Tamenglong Dist HQ and later to Rangkhung Village of Tamenglong due to volatile situation of that time.
As a second child of his parents, he grew up in a humble background.
He graduated in science from Manipur University and served as Range Forest Officer, Asst Conservator of Forest, Dy Conservator of Forest (Divisional Forest Officer), Tamenglong Chief Executive Officer (CEO), FDA, Tamenglong and District Wildlife Warden, Tamenglong.
The candidate also attended the programme and expressed his willingness to uplift the education sector, work on women empowerment, socio, economic & political rights of women, promote Tourism sector and to revive the various tourist attraction spots of Tamenglong & Longmai (Noney) among others.
