'Will not oppose project'

MOREH, Sep 27: Moreh Bypass Road Committee's chairman Tongkhopao Haokip has stated that the committee will not oppose any initiatives taken up by the State Government in regard to road widening project from M Chanou to ICP.
Speaking to media persons during a press meet held at SL Gamnom Village, Tongkhopao Haokip said that the committee has been cooperating with the Government in the lane expansion project of the Asian Highway after the affected landowners were duly compensated.
Moreh Bypass Road Committee was formed in 2016.
The committee also started dismantling structures close to Moreh ICP bypass road as per the order issued by the Tengnoupal DC on September 11, he added.
He also asserted that not a person should obstruct the project without due approval from Moreh Bypass Road Committee.
