MBC on peace mission

IMPHAL, Sep 28 : On hearing the unfortunate news of a violent clash between villagers of Aimol Chingnunghut and Aimol Khunjai during which a Pastor was killed, the Manipur Baptist Convention (MBC) Cabinet Secretaries, led by the General Secretary, Rev Dr W Konghar, visited the two villages and interacted with DIG Themthing Ngashangva and the OC of Pallel Police Station on September 27.
The MBC team met the elders of the two villages, prayed with them and appealed to them to restore peace and harmony and avoid such violent clashes in the future, said MBC in a statement.
While saying that MBC is committed to the pursuit of peace and understanding, it also called upon both the parties not to worsen the crisis in any manner so that violence and bloodshed, which bring no benefit to anyone, may be prevented at all cost.
The team appreciated the police force for their good work of maintaining peace and order in the area after such a violent incident and requested them to continue to give special attention and see that such violent conflict does not repeat in the future.
The MBC team met the grieving wife of the Pastor who lost his life in the unfortunate incident and paid condolences to the bereaved family, the statement said while adding that the team also met and prayed with the injured persons from both the villages.
MBC further appealed to all to continue to pray for the two villages so that peace and harmony could be restored.
