House, shops gutted

IMPHAL, Sep 7: One house and four shops were gutted in a blazing fire this morning at 8.30 at Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi in Imphal East district.
According to Manipur Fire Service, the owner of the house and the shops has been identified as Thounaojam Yaishana. Around Rs 10 to 15 lakh worth of properties were gutted. Among the four shops, two sell petrol and engine oil. The other two shops run tent house service and CD parlour.
Fire Services suspected the fire could have started from the shops which sell petrol.
Timely intervention by the Fire Services team controlled the fire from spreading to the neighbouring houses and shops.
