UFM pays tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri

United Front Manipur (UFM) paid tributes to Bharat Ratna Lal Bahadur Shastri on the eve of his 55th Death Anniversary which falls on January 11.
Lal Bahadur Shastri, the second Prime Minister of free India was also a true follower of Mahatma Gandhi and ardent supporter of Jawaharlal Nehru's Socialist and Non-Align policies, said a statement issued by United Front Manipur.
He selflessly dedicated his life to the welfare of the farmers, soldiers and the upliftment of the downtrodden and played a key role in India's domestic, economic and foreign policies, added the statement.
UFM added that the victory of the Indian Armed Forces over Pakistan in the 1965 Indo-Pak war was a result of his remarkable leadership and his ceaseless support for the Indian Armed Forces.
