SENAPATI, Jan 17: The United India Insurance Company handed over a school and a water tank to Pumdumlong village in Willong sub-division, Senapati, today.
The 4 room concrete school building with bathroom and toilet and the water storage tank was constructed under its 'Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)'.
The handing over programme was attended by YK Shimray, General Manager, Head Office Chennai; M Makan, Chief Regional Manager, Guwahati; L Rangpung John, ADC member Senapati; Luikang Mathew RK, Branch Manager, United India Insurance Company, Imphal; village headmen of Willong circle; Church leaders; public leaders and villagers of Pumdumlong village.
The dignitaries attending the programme lauded the efforts of Luikang Mathew RK for his selfless dedication towards the completion of the project.
They also extended gratitude to the villagers, village chairman Luikang Gregory and Baraing Michael for the success of the programme.
YK Shimray distributed sports items and group personal accident policy to the 245 villagers of Pumdumlong aged between 5 and 70 years. He also highlighted the importance of various insurance policies to the attending villagers.
It may be noted that United India Insurance Company has built a school and water supply in Tusom Christian Village worth Rs 65 lakh and infrastructure development worth Rs 2 lakh at Elimson School, Tushar in Ukhrul district under CSR.
