Police Medal for Gallantry awarded

IMPHAL, Jan 27
The Deputy commandant, 182 Bn BSF, in a statement issued today, informed that 10 BSF Bravehearts of 182 Battalion BSF Koirengei, Imphal consisting of 1 officer, 4 subordinate officers and 5 other ranks were awarded the "Police Medal for Gallantry" (PMG), on the occasion of 72nd Republic Day 2021.
The PMG was awarded in recognition of the extraordinary courage and valour shown in neutralizing and eliminating 3 dreaded militants of Hizbul-Mujahideen terrorist organisation who attacked 182 Bn BSF Campus Humama, Srinagar (J&K) on October 3, 2017, thereby preventing loss of lives and thwarting a major attack on a vital installation, it added.
