Thang-Ta Numit observance continues

Universal Huyel Lallong Academy, Samurou organised an awareness programme today as a part of the month long observance of Thang-Ta Numit under the theme 'Thang-Ta for Social Change'.
The programme was attended by Angom Kumar, LDC Secretariat, Leitanthem Dhamendro, vice chairman, Thang-Ta Day Observation Committee, N Ajitkumar Mangang, president and B Bilki Sharma, co convenor as the presidium members, said a press release issued by the Thang-Ta Observation Committee.
Saplings were planted as a part of the programme which was also attended by students of Universal Huyel Lallong Academy and members of KIMACS and Thang-Ta Observation Committee.
Speaking at the occasion, Leitanthem Dhamendro stressed on the need to work collectively for the upliftment of Thang-Ta art emphasizing at the grass root level.
He further appealed to all to contribute in the best possible way for the development of this indigenous martial art which has got many benefits.
He also highlighted the need for practising the various tactics of the indigenous art of Thang-Ta to rejuvenate the spirit of oneness in today's society which is in a regressive state.
Angom Kumar sought support and co-operation from the public to extend best possible help to organisations and individuals who have been striving to promote the Thang-Ta art on a large scale.
He also appealed to all to plant more trees for a greener and healthier environment.
