Gamnom firing incident : Combined team pull up 3 KNF (N) cadres

IMPHAL, Oct 25 : A combined team of Imphal West commandos and column of 15 Assam Rifle arrested three active cadres of KNF (N) allegedly involved in the indiscriminate firing at B Gamnom village that killed three persons on October 12 last along with arms and ammunition from different locations over the period of 24 hours.
This was informed by Imphal West SP Dr S Ibomcha during  a press conference held at the conference hall of SP Imphal West today.
Briefing the media persons, the SP stated that the police received
information about the presence of some active cadres of KNF (N) in the adjourning area of Moidangpok and New Keithelmanbi area.
Based on the information, the team of Imphal West commando  rushed to the area and arrested one active cadres of KNF (N) identified as Seigoulun Singsit (20) s/o (L) Paokhomang Singsit of K Phoipi village, Motbung from the adjourning area of Keithelmanbi Moidangpok area at around 9.30 pm last night, he added.
On spot examination, Seigoulun Singsit disclosed that he is working under the command of self style vice chairman of the outfit Mangsat Haokip and involved in kidnapping, extortion of money from general public and looting the vehicles plying along the Imphal Dimapur road, Dr Ibomcha said.
The SP further stated that on further questioning Seigoulun Singsit revealed that he along with six cadres of KNF (N) under the command of self style chairman James Kipgen of Gangpijang  village Kangpokpi and self style vice chairman Mangsat Haokip of N Boljang Village Kangpokpi district opened indiscriminate firing at the residence of B Gamnom Village on October 12 at around 11.30 am killing three civilians.
Immediately, the combined team of Imphal West commandos and column of 15 Assam Rifles rushed to Motbung and Sapermeina area along with Seigoulun Singsit to arrest his associates involved in the October 12 firing incident
During the search operation, two more cadres of KNF (N) involved in the firing incident were arrested from their respective houses this morning and recovered arms and ammunition.
The arrested cadres have been identified as Henminlun Misao @ Kevin (29) s/o (L) Luminthang Misao of Kangchup Ponlen village Kangpokpi district and Hentinseh Singsit (30) s/o Janglam Singsit of Motbung Phoipi village Kangpokpi district.
From them, one 9mm pistol along with a magazine loaded with five live rounds and one .32 pistol along with a magazine loaded with three live rounds.
The SP further stated that the attack on October 12 was carried  out under the command of self style chairman James Kipgen and self style vice chairman Mangsat Haokip.
The SP also stated that search operation is still underway to nab other associates and leaders of KNF (N) who are involved in the October 12 firing incident.
