'Eigi Kona'

IMPHAL, Oct 25 'Eigi Kona' (Stallone My Pony) has been conferred the Rajat Kamal for the Best Regional Manipuri Feature Film at the 67th National Film Awards at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, today.
The film produced by Dr K Sushila and jointly directed by Maipaksana Haorongbam and Bobby Wahengbam had already received much appreciations at various reputed festivals including Indian Panorama 51st IFFI, Goa; 4th OIFFA, Canada; Indica Film Utsav 2020 and Thrissur International Film Festival 2021 among others.
The award was presented to Dr K Sushila and Maipaksana Haorongbam by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.
'Eigi Kona' narrates the sorry state of Ponies and Polo Players in the State which is considered as the birthplace of Polo.
The story revolves around Thawai, a promising young Polo player and his family.
Shaolin impressively plays the role of Thawai alongside various other artistes including Tonthoi, Shanti, Jasmine, Phiroj, Romesh, Deven, Prafullo and child artist Berlin. Polo Player Muhindro contributed immensely to the movie.
Dr K Sushila is a retired Director, Art and Culture Department and Maipaksana Haorongbam is video editor at DIPR and had already won the Rajat Kamal earlier for his film 'Eibusu Yaohanbiyu' at the 63rd National Film Awards.
