Dr Ranjan feted

IMPHAL, Oct 3 : Khongnangthaba University (KU), Khurai Konsam Leikai felicitated Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs Dr RK Ranjan Singh at its mini-auditorium, today.
The felicitation ceremony was graced by Dr Ranjan Singh,  KU Vice Chancellor Prof Naorem Joykumar Singh  and Khurai AC MLA L Susindro as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
At the function, Dr Ranjan said that the Khongnangthaba University Bill was passed at the State Legislative Assembly recently, following which the Vice Chancellor and Registrar of the University were also appointed.
Saying that the modalities of higher education have been amended after the implementation of National Education Policy 2020 (NEP), he urged the authority of the KU to give a dedicated effort to raise the standard of the varsity.
The MoS further said that senior Union Cabinet Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had written to him twice to give an update on the stage of NIT at Lampphelpat and Kendriya Vidyalaya at Akampat.
So far, no reply has been sent to the Union Minister , he added.
It is also disappointing that no land can be allotted for the establishment of addititional institutions in the State despite the go ahead signal from the Central Government, Dr Ranjan continued.
Expressing his keen desire to initiate certain projects related to education sector in Manipur and implement Act East Policy effectively, the MoS sought cooperation and suggestion from the people on his endeavour.
He also asked what positive output has the Manipur University given after it has been upgraded to a varsity of  central standard.
