Lourembam Nelson Mangangcha feted

Spastic Society of Manipur in association with Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal has felicitated Lourembam Nelson Mangangcha today in recognition of his outstanding achievement and untiring efforts to  clear the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2020.
He cleared the exam in spite of the huge challenges faced by him as a person with hearing impairment.
The honour was bestowed to him by Dr Mohan Konwar, District Governor, Rotary  International District 3240 at Spastic Society of Manipur Campus, Tapokpi Bazar at Langthabal Kunja.
Also the District Governor handed over an Eye Like Rapid Imaging System (EyeRis), interactive Smart Board  to Laishram Ricky, Secretary, Spastic Society of Manipur for enabling the class room into a digital one.
Laishram Ricky while delivering the welcome and keynote address thanked the Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal for their solidarity to the cause of disability and their continued support every year since its inception.
He also congratulated L Nelson Mangangcha for his outstanding achievement and stressed on the need for recognising role models like him so that many will follow in his footsteps.
He also mentioned that digital classrooms where a physical classroom extends into a digital space that is fully immersed in technology. Further he stated that since information technology has become a vital aspect of the present education system, the institute will partner and collaborate with stakeholders to impart computer education to Persons with Disabilities on war footing.
The function ended with the handing over of a tricycle to Waikhom Premjit @ Nanao, a locomotor Disabled person from Langthabal Kunja by the secretary of the Spastic Society of Manipur.
