BCCK fetes president, working presidents of MPCC

KAKCHING, Oct 31: Block Congress Committee Kakching (BCCK) on Sunday felicitated the newly appointed president of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), MLA N Loken of Nambol constituency and working presidents, MLA K Meghachandra, MLA D Kurung Thang and former Minister I Hemochandra at JNNRUM Hall, Kakching Sumak Leikai.
Speaking on the occasion, N Loken Singh stressed on the origin of the INC back to the days of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Maulana Azad.
He also mentioned that the declaration of 7 new districts of Manipur was accomplished under the leadership of former Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh of INC while adding that the people still support and appreciate the Congress party.
Later, N Loken accorded a warm welcome to 42 new supporters of INC party from different parts of Kakching AC presented scarfs.
The programme was also attended by E Dwijamani, MPCC vice president; E Manglem, president District Congress Committee Kakching; Ksh Ibohal president BCCK;  L Brojen secretary BCCK; Yengkhom Nilachandra, social worker and INC intending candidate; N Kobit and Kshetri Kennedy, MPCC members and councillor, former councillor, former chairperson of Kakching Municipal Council as well as members of Kakching Mahila Congress.
