Priyobarta wins 1st Boby Classic title as Boby's Golden Fitness Gym gets a grand opening

IMPHAL, Oct 31 : Boby's Golden Fitness Gym was formally inaugurated today at Langthabal Kunja Mayai Leikai.
The inaugural function was attended by Deputy Speaker, K Robindro; president of the All Manipur Body Builders Association (AMBBA), Nagaland MLA, Khriehu Leizietsu N Ratan Singh; MU VC, Prof N Lokendra; IBBF vice president, Swamy Ramesh, WBPF member, Passar  Serpa among others as dignitaries. The gym is a new venture of the 8 time Mr World champion Arambam Boby who quit his job as a clerk in the Indian Railways recently to concentrate in training promising athletes of the State. A State level bodybuilding contest titled "1st BOBY CLASSIC 2021" was also organised at Manipur University  Centenary Hall in coordination with MUSU and under the aegis of the AMBBA.
In all, 28 body builders below 70 kg and 8 above 70 kg participated in the men's bodybuilding competition besides 27 athletes partaking in the men's physique competition.
The overall title of the inaugural contest went to Wangkheirakpam Priyobarta of Lengthong Kamei Foundation and was feted with a cash reward of Rs 50,000, a certificate, a medal, a trophy and a gift hamper.
Chingkheinganba Athokpam of RFA Thoubal finished second in the final (overall) round contest and walked away Rs 30,000 richer while W Kiran Singh of MPSC secured third place and a cash reward of Rs 20,000. Yumnam Luwanganba Meitei of Royal Gym-Ningomthong was fourth, Yengkhom Jupitar of Muscle Factor-Kakching was fifth and L Okendro Singh of MPSC was sixth in the same competition and were feted respectively with cash rewards- Rs 15,000; Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000 along with medals, certificates and trophies.
The overall title contenders were selected from among the top three position holders of both the weight categories (-70 and +70 kg).
Akoijam Sanjoy of Lion Gym and Fitness Centre and Yuvraj Sonar of Royal Gym-Ukhrul  who finished fourth and fifth position holders in the below 70 kg category competition and Soraisham Priyankar Singh of KBB Gym-Tera and Joydev Thongam of Super Gym-Khurai who finished fourth and fifth in the above 70 kg category competition were also encouraged respectively with cash rewards of Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000.
In the men's physique competition, Adhikarimayum Ritesh Sharma of Pravabati Fitness Centre earned the top honour (Rs 15,000; certificate, medal, trophy).
Khundrakpam Debabrata Singh of Salai Fitness and Gym-Wangjing; Joyjeet Waikhom of Royal Gym-Ningomthong; Paona Thoudam of Perfect Fitness Centre, Porompat and Thokchom Yaisana Meitei of Royal Gym-Ningomthong finished second, third, fourth and fifth respectively.
They were also feted with cash reward of Rs 10000, Rs 7000, Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 along with certificates, medals and trophies.
