KFA's Open Night Tourney: SMT Pangjang, TASA, PMT through to round of 22

KANGPOKPI, Nov 10: SMT Pangjang defeated JSYC 7-6 via tiebreaker yesterday to make it to the round of 22 in the ongoing KFA's Open Night Football Tournament.
Both SMT Pangjang and JSYC failed to break the deadlock till the end of the normal time which compelled the referee to decide the winners via tie breaker.
TASA also defeated Lato Leikot Area U-18 by 5-3 goals on penalties after both the sides remained locked at 2-2 during the normal time.
It was a fine comeback for TASA as they trailed 2-0 with Thangkhanlen (3') and Lenboilun (24') scoring for the Leikot side are but  Lalkhanlen scored twice in the 42nd and 66th minutes to draw level and keep round of 22 hope alive.
In the third match, Paothang Memorial Team (PMT) edged out KAYO 2-1 to join SMT Pangjang and TASA in the round of 22.
Both sides started cautious and warded off threatening runs till Kamminthang found the back of the net in the 32nd minute and put PMT up in the front.
The lead was however short-lived with KAYO's Seiminlen hitting the equaliser three minutes later.
It was everyone's game for the major portion of the game after the equaliser but Lamgoulun goal of PMT in the 72nd minute broke the KAYO's dream of advancing into the round of 22 of the tournament.
