Ritual performed at Khwairamband Keithel

IMPHAL, Nov 16 : An annual ritual of Keithel Lairembi Lairemba at Khwairamband Keithel was performed today in the presence of Rajya Sabha MP Leisemba Sanajaoba.
By the sideline of the ritual, the MP also read out the note written by priest Samjetsabam Kondumba of Uttra Shanglen on Keithel Lairembi Lairemba as per the request of  the vendors.
At the ritual, Leisemba Sanajaoba stated that the god and goddess at Khwairamband Keithel are 'highly revered and feared by us.'
Saying that 'our keithel which existed since time immemorial' was   reconditioned during the time of King Khagemba, the MP added that  the sacred stones at the Keithel were also placed by him (King Khagemba).
The stones were shifted to Kangla during the reign  of King Chandrakriti for a brief period before returning it back to the keithel, he said and prayed for the prosperity of the vendors operating at the   keithel.
The MP also prayed for the Covid pandemic to end and bring stability in the State.
