IMPHAL, Nov 17: Manipur Day was observed today at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi as a part of the ongoing 40th India International Trade Fair.
The event was graced by Textiles, Commerce and Industry Minister Thongam Biswajit, Textiles, Commerce and Industry Director Kengoo Zuringla and Manipur Bhavan, New Delhi Deputy Resident Commissioner LH Ngathingshim as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, Th Biswajit said that the law and order situation of Manipur has improved remarkably since the BJP-led Government was installed and the Government has succeeded in fostering closer ties among different communities of the State.
There is peace in the State and as a result, the State is marching on the path of development since the BJP-led Government was installed, Biswajit claimed.
Further claiming that Manipur is a State full of natural resources which have not been exploited yet, Biswajit said that the natural beauty of Manipur cannot be described in words.
He said that Manipur would welcome all investors  in every sector as well as tourists from India and abroad.    
As a part of the event, a cultural troupe called Tapashya presented different traditional dance and music programmes.
Joy’s Creation, Samurou also presented a parade in traditional attires.
