One remanded

IMPHAL, Nov 2 : Special Judge POCSO Imphal East has remanded one 22 year old Mohammad Sahil who was arrested on the charge of sexually assaulting a minor on October 29 last to judicial custody.
Accused Mohammad Sahil, s/o Md Aslam of Hatta Chini Leikai near Orient Hotel was produced before the Court on the completion of his police custody period. The IO of the case submitted that the elder brother of the victim lodged a complaint on October 30 claiming that his younger sister was sexually assaulted by the accused on October 29 at around 7 pm. The incident happened when the victim went to buy medicine, the IO said. The IO further submitted that the victim returned at around 8.15 pm weeping and disclosed that she was intercepted near Tribal Market and physically violated at Namthanpung. The accused was arrested on October 31 last. The Court after hearing the submission and on perusal of the material produced remanded the accused to judicial custody till November 16.
